Second Starts, established
in 2002, addresses the household start-up needs of families in housing
crisis in the Indianapolis Indiana area. This is accomplished by accepting
donations of new and gently used household items.
Second Starts will pick up
your donation, then sort and organize the items in our storage facility.
When a housing assistance agency informs us that a client is moving into
a home, we pull the necessary items from storage and deliver them to
their new owner. Most orders include kitchen items, dishes, towels,
bed linens and other household items. Second Starts delivers an average
of twelve orders every week.
Second Starts provides these
items free of charge so the recipient can use their limited funds for
groceries, rent and other necessities. We hope this service will help
create long term residence stability.
